Love The Mundane

"Appreciate the plain and simple. Find that great in the small."

- Lao Tzu

Dear Reader,

The vast majority of our lives will be, frankly, mundane.

Much of our day is run on autopilot. Many of our actions consist of habits we've repeated for years.

We see the same things, live the same days, eat the same foods, and repeat the same actions that we've always done.

This is simply a fact of life, but that doesn't mean that there isn't beauty in it.

In fact, there is much profundity to be found in otherwise mundane things.

It simply comes from observing and looking deeply within them.

A meal you've eaten every day for the past year takes on a new meaning when you view that meal deeply.

When you do, you see the farmers that all worked together to bring the meal to your table.

You see the care that went into the recipe.

You see the skill in crafting the cookware you used to make it.

You begin to see it not as just another meal, but as a symphony of factors that all worked together to sustain you.

And that is a beautiful thought.

We can look at everything in our lives just as deeply. No matter how mundane, no matter how much we've already been exposed to it.

There is beauty in everything.

You just need to find it.

Today's Reflection:

What is something mundane in your life that you can choose to see more beautifully? Can you choose to look deeper within and find beauty in something that appears plain on the surface?

Peace, love, and joy to you.
