TAO MEDITATIONS
Who Will You Help Today?
"[The master] is there to help all of creation, and doesn't abandon even the smallest creature."
- Lao Tzu
Dear Reader,
How many of the things you use on a day-to-day basis were created by another?
You sleep in a bed crafted by someone else.
You eat a breakfast whose ingredients were grown, shipped, and prepared for you by someone else.
You drive in a car made by someone else.
And you're currently reading this on a device created by someone else.
All of this should reinforce one thing and bring it to the forefront of your awareness:
Human beings were made for each other.
Our action, our work, our love, and our care are vital for the survival of others, just as the action, work, love, and care of others are vital for our own.
As you go about your day today, offer a moment of gratitude for the work of others that affords you the life you live.
And as you go about your work, or even your leisure, bring to mind the people you have helped, or will help by your presence.
When your heart is open to helping, you are on the path of virtue.
Peace, love, and joy to you.
